800 SF – Two Story ADU with Roof Deck 

The Ashton ADU is designed as a guest house for visiting relatives, accommodating an expanding family of children and grandchildren from out of town. The Spanish style treehouse includes aesthetic touches like Spanish tile, dark wood cabinets and wrought iron banisters. The first floor serves as a place to lounge while using the small pool that will be installed outside the wall-to-wall glass doors. The  airy second floor has a complete kitchen combined with an eating/living area and balcony. As you wind upward on the staircase, you meet a library and reading nook, a powder room, and finally a rooftop deck with spectacular views of the mid-city.  

The design style of the ADU harmonizes with the classic Los Angeles Spanish architecture of the main house.  The window eyebrows help keep the unit cool in the summer by keeping out the hot, high summer sun, and yet allow the warm winter sun to penetrate into the space.
