This Accessory Dwelling Unit was designed for a single dad and his teenage daughter on a very narrow small lot. It has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, roof deck and a one-car garage. A significant goal of the project was to preserve the existing sycamore tree and orange tree on the property that would both, provide privacy on the small lot, as well as preserve habitat/food for birds, butterflies and humans alike. The sycamore tree shields the 3rd story roof deck from the neighbors. Oranges can be picked from the 2nd floor stair landing. An existing non-conforming garage was incorporated into the design allowing the homeowner to benefit additional square footage.
